To achieve any great goal or instill any great habit you must make daily progress. No great achievement has been reached through one day’s effort. It takes years to collect the knowledge necessary to succeed, even longer to build the character. The good news is that daily effort can replace shyness with confidence, laziness with effort, aimlessness with concentration, and apathy with vision.

Self-control is a trait shared by all great people, because it is the quality that ensures you work hard each day. Practice self-discipline, self-control, and self-respect each day until they become unconscious habits. You will soon find you have made substantial progress toward a great goal.
