If the natives of some distant world, on which the sun always shines, visited earth, they would be dismayed as they watched the light of the sun disappear under the cover of darkness.

Yet their dismay would disappear, and their astonishment increase, as myriads of worlds that they never dreamed of blazed forth and revealed themselves in the darkness.

Thus, adversity frightens us, but instead of lessening our blessings, it reveals new sources of comfort, and worlds of joy that were hidden while the veil of prosperity shined upon us.
