Did You Know?
West Highlands stands on the site of Perry Homes, a public housing project for Black families that opened in 1954 with 1,100 units. A tornado destroyed part of it on March 24, 1975, and new buildings went up in 1976 and 1977. Demolition was completed in 1999, and the West Highlands development replaced it.
