Did You Know?
Woxall was first called Kroppestettel, Pennsylvania Dutch for Crowtown, and later Mechanicsville. In 1888 the village got a post office, but another Pennsylvania town already had that name. Residents chose Noxall, a word they saw on a box of soap at the village store. Postal officials misread the first letter and approved Woxall.
