Did You Know?
In 1939 the WPA's Montana guide listed Happy Inn as a resort with tourist cabins beside Crystal Lake, where boats were available. It also called nearby Loon Lake, close to the highway, a good spot for fishing. Flathead and Kootenai people came to the lake country around the Flathead and Kootenai divide to hunt and fish. That's from the Federal Writers' Project.
