Focus on the Essentials

Always focus on what matters most.

It is not large distractions that hurt productivity most, but little petty annoyances and worries that beat against us with daily regularity. They seem trifling and unimportant, but how they wound, and worry, and sometimes kill. It is possible, however, to rise above annoyances and disappointments.

How? By keeping the mind concentrated upon big, essential, fundamental ideas and purposes. It is a fatal thing to brood over your troubles, most of which are usually imaginary. If today appears to you dark and unpromising, days of sunshine will surely follow. Pleasure is enhanced by work, joy by sorrow, and success by seeming failure.

There is so much good work to do that you have no time for worry or anxiety.
