Did You Know?
Poncey-Highland takes its name from the nearby crossing of Ponce de Leon Avenue and North Highland Avenue. Next door, the Copenhill neighborhood was razed for a giant highway interchange. Surrounding neighborhoods fought the plan and stopped it. By then the state had torn down over 500 homes, and Freedom Parkway was built on that land instead.
