Friendly has a story worth telling. Around 1900 the Providence Methodist Episcopal congregation moved its church from the Piscataway District to Old Fort Road, near the village of Friendly. The congregation added a Sunday school wing around 1940 and had outgrown its space again by 1952. That's from the Maryland Historical Trust.
