This is the largest village in the township, and one of the
most thriving in the county. It was laid out on the An-
derson survey, No. 391, on the second bank of the Ohio,
where Ray's Run empties into that stream, and the plat was
recorded July 30,1816, by Owen Davis, through his attorney-
in-fact, John Payne."
