Martha Graham at California Avenue and Brighton Road
Martha Graham was born near here. A state historical marker stands where California Avenue meets Brighton Road. It honors her as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. The marker says she created a modern and unique style of movement. In 1927 she started her own dance school. Her works, like "Frontier" and "Appalachian Spring," changed modern dance for good.
