Every town has a first chapter, and Bigfoot is no exception. Bigfoot was settled about 1865 and in its early years was known as Connally's Store, for Bob Connally. When James Connally got a post office for the community in 1883, he named it Bigfoot, for William A. A. Bigfoot Wallace, who lived there. Much of the business section burned in 1903, but the community grew again after the Bigfoot oilfield opened to the south in the 1950s. That's from the Handbook of Texas.
Bigfoot is a community in Frio County. The Census Bureau counted 480 people here in 2020.
