Did You Know?
The name Bow comes from a bend in the Merrimack River. New Hampshire granted the town to Jonathan Wiggin and others in 1727. Massachusetts had already granted much of that land as Pennacook, now Concord. Bow kept its title but had to give up over two-thirds of its land to Concord, Pembroke and Hopkinton.
