Rails first reached Arcade on May 1, 1881. That line became the Arcade and Attica Railroad. Floods on Tonawanda Creek forced it to give up the stretch to Attica in 1957. The railroad still hauls freight from the village and runs summer excursions behind steam locomotive No. 18.
