Did You Know?
In 1878, a fire burned for five days and destroyed 30 blocks of the town center. The homes built to replace them were almost all Victorian in style. Later preservation work kept them standing. Today Cape May has the nation’s second largest collection of Victorian houses, after San Francisco.
