Every town has a first chapter, and Hollis Crossroads is no exception. An 1897 survey of southern gold mines described the Chulafinnee district, about 8 miles west of Arbacoochee, where extensive placer mining had been done in the past. Recent prospecting had found rich quartz stringers on Burrell Higginbotham's property, near the old King mine, which had run a stamp mill more than 20 years before. That's from the North Carolina Geological Survey.

Hollis Crossroads is a community in Cleburne County. The Census Bureau counted 665 people here in 2020.
