Did You Know?
When Teesto sat along the main road between Dilkon and Polacca, it was known as Ha’nanee’tiin, which means Road Going Past. When Arizona Route 87 was built in the 1960s, it bypassed the community, and Teesto became much less well known. It has long been a place where Navajo and Hopi people came together, and it still sits on the border between the two reservations. The chapter house burned down in 2015 and was rebuilt by March 2023. That's from the Teesto Chapter of the Navajo Nation.
