Here is a piece of Skene history. The Reverend J. J. Turner of Skene did mostly pioneer work as a Baptist preacher. In his twenty years in the Delta he opened a small tract of land, preached to nearby churches and gave much time to establishing and maintaining the church in his own community. Skene was a station on the Boyle and Sunflower branch of the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad, 4 miles southwest of Cleveland. That's from the Baptist Record.
Skene is a community in Bolivar County. The Census Bureau counted 210 people here in 2020.
