Missouri City in the Civil War
An 1885 history of Clay County records two moments from the Civil War years in Missouri City. It says a man named Sessions was killed by bushwhackers at Missouri City during the Civil War. It also says German Federal soldiers seized a number of firearms at Missouri City and carried them off. Today Water Street still runs along the edge of the river, below the same hills.
