Here is a piece of Crystal history. Crystal's Navajo name means Clear Water or Sparkling Water. Government records show that its first trading post was established in 1884, and John B. Moore, a later trader there, was one of the earliest traders to send Navajo wool away to be scoured, to grade the rugs and to build a mail order business in Navajo rugs. That's from the Navajo Places book by Laurance Linford.
Crystal is a community in San Juan County. The Census Bureau counted 302 people here in 2020.
