Did You Know?
The village of Holland Patent takes its name from a tract of more than 20,000 acres. The British crown granted that land to Henry, Lord Holland. He sold it to Seth and Horace Johnson and Andrew Craige. They hired Moses Wright to survey it into lots of about 100 acres each. That’s from the 1896 Our County and Its People.
