Here is a piece of Long Hollow history. Long Hollow, a deep wooded ravine, was a gathering place for Native people from the time the Sioux first occupied the region. Late each summer members of the Sisseton band gathered there for powwows. The hollow had good pasture and shelter from icy winds. When enemies came, the Sissetons often followed it south into a deeper gulch called Bad Hollow. That's from the Federal Writers Project.
Long Hollow is a community in Roberts County. The Census Bureau counted 265 people here in 2020.
