Busby has a story worth telling. When the reservation was set up, the White River Cheyennes settled near Busby. In 1904 the Tongue River boarding school opened there, families moved their tipis close by, and trader Sheridan Busby, the town's founder, soon built a log house and a store on a bluff just west of Rosebud Creek. Later the trader Walker Moncure, a friend of Chief Two Moons, put up a stone monument to the chief about a quarter mile east of his Busby store in 1938. That's from the National Register of Historic Places.
Busby is a community in Big Horn County. The Census Bureau counted 719 people here in 2020.
