Did You Know?
Judge A. F. Knotts founded Yankeetown during the Florida boom days. Back in 1905, he had planned the city of Gary, Indiana. His village on the Withlacoochee River became a sportsmen’s resort. The first Florida chapter of the Izaak Walton League was organized here. That’s from the 1939 WPA guide to Florida.
