Governor George Leader and Leaders Heights Road
Another state marker stands on Leaders Heights Road. It honors George M. Leader, who was born here on his family's farm. He was governor of Pennsylvania from 1955 to 1959. His years in office brought more state aid for schools. They also brought changes to state parks and state hospitals. Later, he started nursing and retirement homes across the state.
