A lake outlet and an Aroostook river
Masardis was incorporated in 1839. Part of Scopan Lake’s western arm extends into the town and neighboring Ashland.
The lake drains through a dam in Masardis into Scopan Stream. That stream joins the Aroostook River, which is a tributary of the Saint John River.
