Marthasville, Believed Settled About 1818

Marthasville has deep roots. The State Historical Society of Missouri keeps an old file of place names for Warren County. It says the town is believed to have been settled about 1818. On the map, Marthasville City Hall is printed in the middle of town, just above East Main Street.

Two buildings on Depot Street are now on the National Register of Historic Places. The Herman H. Fortmann Building stands at 207 Depot Street. It was listed in 2006. The Marthasville Hardware Building is at 203 Depot Street, just a few numbers away. It was listed in 2008. On the map, look for Depot Street on the west side of downtown, close to West South Street.
