Did You Know?
Mount Ephraim began as a Colonial settlement on the old King’s Highway. Stagecoach companies running between Camden, Philadelphia and the coast made Ephraim Albertson’s tavern their station. Albertson kept fresh horses ready for the coaches. Beside his inn stood a large stable and a carriage shed. That’s from the 1939 WPA guide to New Jersey.
