Limington is a town in York County.

Mills, an academy and a library
Limington was incorporated in 1792 from Little Ossipee Plantation. Its name came from Limington in Somerset, England.
Amos Chase built a mill at the mouth of the Little Ossipee River in 1773. Later water-powered mills turned local timber into lumber, boxes, shingles and clapboards, while gristmills and a tannery added other trades.
Limington Academy was incorporated in 1848, and its building followed in 1852. Davis Memorial Library was built in 1912 from designs by Portland architect John Calvin Stevens.
