Did You Know?
The town takes its name from the Seneca people, a nation of the Haudenosaunee. Their villages, including Kanadaseaga, once stood here and nearby. Settlers began arriving around 1790, and the town was organized in 1793. An Erie County town later took the name West Seneca to avoid confusion with this one.
