Did You Know?

Worth is named for William Worth, who commanded troops at the Battle of Sackett’s Harbor. Settlers arrived around 1802, but hard conditions and the War of 1812 drove many away. The war also stopped an early push to form the town. Worth finally split from Lorraine and became its own town.
