Broadview Road holds a piece of Ohio's Sikh history. The Sikh Gurdwara marker at 4220 Broadview Road tells the story. A gurdwara is a place for Sikh prayer. The Guru Nanak Foundation first used rented spaces for its religious activities. It became a formal organization in 1976. By 1980, it could buy a building on West 25th Street in Cleveland.
The congregation grew during the 1980s. In 1991, it decided to move the Gurdwara to Richfield. The marker identifies this as the site of Ohio's first Sikh Gurdwara. Look for Broadview Road on the print to connect that story with a familiar local road.
