Did You Know?
Settlers arrived in 1856 and called the place Otter Creek Ford. By the 1930s and 1940s, nearly 1,000 people lived there, making it the second largest town in Levy County. A mill there cut cypress for citrus crates. The town shrank after that mill closed and two railroads stopped service.
