Lamoine is a town in Hancock County.
KNOWOL made this map in 2026 from public survey records, United States Geological Survey elevation data and Census Bureau files. Its atlas layout brings together Lamoine’s streets, buildings, neighborhoods, ponds and waterways, and terrain, the town boundary and the pattern of buildings.
A name and a waterfront
Lamoine takes its name from an early resident, Andre LeMoyne, with the spelling changing over time. Lamoine was incorporated in 1870.
Lamoine State Park occupies a waterfront site on Frenchman’s Bay. A United States Navy coaling station opened there in 1902 and ceased operations by 1912. Maine took possession in 1949 and developed the state park during the 1950s.
